"Self Defense isn't Murder..."

Had an exciting Jämnställsdagen (sp?) aka Equality Day.  Caroline Willfox came and spoke about her rape and how she came through it.  I was sitting there listening to her talk and I couldn't help but think of how this woman was completely violated a couple years ago and she was standing there in front of me at that moment, acknowledging it but also very relaxed about it.  Had she come to terms with it or was it just an act and the whole speaking out about it was just a mask to cover how disturbed she still felt inside? Hmm...anyways, she has a forum (willcommunication.se) for girls or whoever to go and just talk about rape or incest or other things.

Afterwards we did workshops and had lunch (disgusting fish).  then we watched the film Enough with Miss Lopez.  Pretty good movie i think, i just hate it when writers fast forward so suddenly. Oh they met? now theyre married! aww shes pregnant! now their marriage is falling apart! = the first 15-20 minutes of the movie. and most of it was the first part.  Idk...maybe im still just sour from Private Practice skipping like 3 months of valuable drama.

Now I'm sitting working on math and listening to a virtual thunderstorm.

I have this one memory that I really love.  It was maybe a year ago? Just me and my dad in the garage with the door open.  He was fixing something with the car which was inside the garage and i had a chair set up at the very edge of the garage, looking down the driveway towards the alley as the rain poured down.  There was the smell.  The rain smell, y'know? It's so...fresh...and amazing.  Anyways, sometimes the thunder would roll and sometimes there would be an extremely loud crack.  I asked my dad why and he explained that from where we were, if the lightning bolt went down diagonally, it would crack because the sound was cutting through air or something like that whereas if the lightning went down straight it would rumble.  I spent the next hour just listening to the rain and guessing when it would crack or rumble.

That was one of my favorite rain days ever.
